Adventure Bay Retreat is a sustainable and environmentally responsible tourism business.

We apply sustainable environmental practices in all aspects of our business. We’re committed to the responsible environmental management of our property in order to offer guests eco accommodation on Bruny Island.

We work hard to monitor and reduce our carbon footprint through our day-to day operations – including minimising waste and implementing our own recycling program. We minimise energy use through energy efficient lighting and solar hot water and heating, and we store and use rainwater on-site. We even provide bikes for our guests to use free of charge, as they explore the property.

Our land provides important habitat for local flora and fauna. We’re committed to the continuing rehabilitation of our property, in particular at Bligh Creek, and to protecting and enhancing this habitat for our resident vulnerable and threatened species. We’re strong believers in supporting our local community and economy, and we use local products and services wherever possible. Adventure Bay Retreat has a distinctive Tasmanian focus – with local art, food and wine featured in our rooms. And we work closely with local tourism operators and the Bruny Island community to promote and champion this beautiful island as the fantastic Tasmanian destination it is.
